So this is great britain and welcome aboard
A sinking ship thats full of shit and someone nicked the oars
A failing false economy
an anti-punk automony
OUr once unique Identity's
Been washed from our shores

So this is great britain and these are our whores
David and victoria there's hope for us all
YOu can rule britannia
the Media will Marry you
The Build you up to knock you down
Just like the Berlin Wall

In a land of hope and glory
do we really rule the waves?
The truth is a different story
We're all just a bunch of slaves

Yeah this is great britain lets raise a jar
Just look at georgie best and how it got him so far
The prince of pleasure lost his crown
By getting high and getting down
The Alcoholic Anti-hero's Visabilly Scared

So come on Great Britain lets sleep around
Sex is so much fun you better spread it around
It really is infectious
and your soul is nothing precious
so grab some meat and treat your loins
To that by which their bound

In a land of hope and glory
do we really rule the waves?
The truth is a different story
We're all just a bunch of slaves

We'll soon be state Britain
If our Best freinds have their way
Just another star upon the flag across the waves

I can get a record player, and a generator. Generate the music that makes you feel better.

i dont live in poverty, i got a little bit of money and i've got a healthy body. I'm not going to let stuff get me upset, and i wont let all the little things get me depressed.

when i was a young boy i got a stereo and i taped all the songs straight off the radio.

the sounds that the bands made, and the melodies is all i need to make me feel free.

sometimes you get so low, you don't know why, or a little upset all inside. May i remind you? that you don't live in poverty, you got your youth, and you got food in your belly.

I can get a record player, and a generator. Generate the music that makes you feel better.

I was standing on the dancefloor
and a pretty thing caught my eye
She was looking at me, smiling at me
and now shes dancing with me
So I must be pretty, if I'm standing here with people like you
I must be pretty, like you

We departed the dancefloor
and we fought our way to the bar
I had just enough for her wine
So I bought a drink, she necked it down
lit up a cigarette and blew smoke in my eye
and I started to cry, and she laughed in my face

Please tell me, where are my friends when I need them now? haha
Where are my friends when I'm alone

I've got a feeling for the dancefloor,
cause there playing my favourite song
Theres such a buzz about this place
Wait a minute, all my friends have gone

Where are my friends, when I need them now? haha
Where are my friends when I'm alone in the night time?
in the night time
alone in the night time
please tell me how do I get home?

How will I find love tonight
in a loveless city?

It's must be getting near closing time
so dont turn on the lights
This night is young, as we are
We're not ready to go
and now your standing on the streetside
and your sweat will turn to ice
and all your moneys gone cause you
spent it all on that stupid fucking girl

Oh where are my friends, when I need them now? haha
Where are my friends when I'm alone in the night time?
in the night time
alone in the night time
Please tell me how will I get home
I'm so alone, in the night time
in the night time, alone in the night time
please tell me how will I get home
how will I get home tonight?
I havent got no money
and how will I find love love love love love in a loveless city?

Another night out
Another girl on the scene
Tart with a heart
You know the kind I mean
Tell me why it is they all study art
Underage and overdressed
I cant tell them apart

This one other 'ere's got a little something else
All of daddy's money and she fancies herself
Says she's 21, shes probably 16
Got a dirty mouth
At least her teeth are clean
Jack from Tennese
Makes me think that every girl I see
Is my cup of tea

Fit for a fortnight
She aint no good for me
Fit for a fortnight
Its such a shallow scene

Well I've got the same phrase
For any of the boys
Who line up girls
Like nothing for the choice
Come to the club girl, I'll get you on the list
I'll get myself a new one when I get you on the piss
Think we stand out from the clique
Think we're ooh so unique
But the clothes that we wear
Are getting mirrored everywhere
In the morning light
She will realise
That I'm not the kind of boy that she needs

Fit for a fortnight
Thats what she said to me
Fit for a fortnight
Its such a shallow scene

Turns out that I'm not to her taste
Her fickleness was thrown back in my face

14 days since we first met
She's stopped replying to my texts
Only fools fall in love
She served up my heart on a plate
She said I passed myself by day
Guess it serves me right
For all my reckless nights
Calm has come to take me out on a date

Fit for a fortnight
Thats what she said to me
Fit for a fortnight
Its such a shallow scene

Turns out that I'm not to her taste
Her fickleness was thrown back in my face

Fit for a fortnight
Fit for a fortnight
Fit for a fortnight
Fit for a fortnight
Fit for a fortnight

Hello, I found a stitch to wear and came out tonight
But everybody looks at me like come kind of tramp
Coz i, i wear these holy jeans well heaven forbid
And send an angel coz i need somebody tonight, somebody tonight

[Chorus]
Well i cant really dance but baby won't you dance with me
And if you want to take a chance then baby take a chance on me
We're we gonna go, we're we gonna go, we're we gonna go
At the end of the night?
I dont care, and i dont mind
As long as you keep holding me tight

Every night all the boys and girls are busy saying alright
I know i know your face but ive forgotten your name, again!
I blame the alcohol that swims round my brain
I need a drink because i need some joy in my life
I need joy in my life
Wont you take my hand, don't you let me go
Coz i need some joy in my life i need joy in my life

[Chorus]

Ive got your nuber, i'll call you up some time
And if you'd like to-o-o
Say that you'll be mine
I would like to see you again sometime

[Chorus]

. . .

I can't stomach this variety
My plane is under my feet
And I'm tired of your commercial meat
And I can't follow ideology
I'm proud of my attendancy
I wear my jacket of insanity
And I ain't gonna fall into the gap
That kinda life is just a baited trap
Since when was fashion a necessity
I don't see anything we really need

So why should I reinvent myself
When the world that I see
It will not change for you and me

I can't follow our democracy
They don't practice but I tell you they preach
They don't learn but still they think they can teach
And I think Mr Blair is causing anarchy
He can hear him singing God Save the Queen
With a gaze just like a sex machine
I'm sick and tired of all the hate and lies
That seem to hang around the suit and ties
I hate the underworld and I'll agree
I don't see anything we really need

So why should I reinvent myself
When the world that I see
It will not change for you and me

So why should I reinvent myself
When you take more than you need
When this world is built on greed

Sometimes I get at all just can't sleep

So why should I reinvent myself
When the world that I see
It will not change for you and me

So why should I reinvent myself
When you take more than you need
In this world that's built on greed

. . .

This story's a sad one, the sort that you hear all the time
but this time i'll bore you with details and open your mind
it's the tale of a young girl who once was the talk of the town

The first time i saw her the skin was so thin on her bones
her eyes they were lost on that street though she called it her home
so i thought can i save her, can i get her out harms way
and she looked at me with those eyes so what could i say

so i said whats your name
and she said your all the same
so i said dont act so strange i only asked your name

The stars in the night sky she'd seen only once in her life
but stars over girls parts on coldcut she sees every night
she said somewhere in my tattooed jungle you will find my mum
but she will disown me should she ever learn what i've done

and she said what became
of my promised fame
all i got was shame
and she said we're all to blame

and then her eyes said don't you leave me standing on my own
can't you see that the streetside is my home
i'm held by men at night but still i'm cold
i'm so lonely but you know i'm not alone
i'm not alone
i'm not alone

She had hair like a willow tree choked at the side of the road
cardboard boxes for pillows she weeps as she reaps what she sows
so i asked her if one day she mind joining me in my grave
you know like the big ones you see with the family name
but she said all she'd ever been was a hoar and a slave
and she didn't know if she had any soul left to save

and she said why'd you care
so i said because i did
ever since i saw you standing there
well i couldn't help but stare

and then her eyes said don't you leave me standing on my own
can't you see that the streetside is my home
i'm held by men at night but still i'm cold
i'm so lonely but you know i'm not alone
i'm not alone
i'm not alone

she must of had the most lonely face i've ever known,
yeah she must of had the most lonely face i've ever known
well i tried to hold on but my grip it just was not that strong
i can still see her eyes as she fell and she fell for so long

if ever see her i hope you suceed where i failed
i cried for the cutey of kings cross the day she derailed
oh somebody please can you save her and take her away
you know london will kill her you can't let the smoke have its way

. . .

When i was one
my papa dropped me on my head,
and some damage was done

Around the bend and out of my tree
not how i was meant to be
I don't know where, went all my sense
i get lost sitting on the fence

I am the malcontented one
i don't fit in and i never have done
No i never have done

Second Verse, Second verse
Already lost for words
Not complicated i'm just so frustrated
I got so little to say

I don't know where, where i'm from
They say i'm British i don't know where i belong.
I am the malcontented one
I don't fit in, i never have done

I am a dissapearing boy
(I am a dissapearing boy)
I'll lock back, i'm paranoid

Third verse, still lost for words
I don't know what to do
Oh my friend im not in the groove
Not on the same level as you

I felt so lost for far too long
And i'm past caring for how to get along
I am the malcontented one
I don't fit in, i never have done
No i never have done

(I am a dissapearing boy)
No, i never have done
I never never never have done
(I am a dissapearing boy)
No i never have done

. . .

Well he's watching all the wealthy folk on his way to work
Saturady's so far away there's so mush **** to shirk,
He's got to keep his chin up
He's got to keep his nerve
But he just wants so skin Up
Sit down
And flaming well sod those who he serves
Whats the use of money of you got no time to use it?
He don't want to sell his life to you
You know he'd rather have his time
Than a Bob or two

Can't find the money for your rent
or repay the loans your lent
you better turn to god
Cause your up **** creek
and your Sailing into hell
You'll be wailing when they sell your soul to the repo man

Now he's unemployed he lives on milk and bread
His graduate account is so far in the red
He listened to his heart when he should have used his head
He suffers for his art
He's so Skint
His tenancy is hanging by a thread
Now he's got the time
He hasn't got the money
to do this things that people do
But still he'd rather have his time than a bob or two

Can't find the money for your rent
or repay the loans your lent
you better turn to god
Cause your up **** creek
and your Sailing into hell
You'll be wailing when they sell your soul to the repo man

All of his money is gone
(all of his money is gone)
What did he spend it all on
(what did he spend it all on)
He's never had so much fun
(he's never had so much fun)
All of his money is gone
(all of his money is gone)

Oh No,
Now my last penny has been spent
Still my life is heaven sent
Cause i got my friends
To help me through this time
I'll repay you in the end
Don't you worry
I promise you I'll pay you back with Time

Can't find the money for your rent
or repay the loans your lent
you better turn to god
Cause your up **** creek
and your Sailing into hell
You'll be wailing when they sell your soul to the repo man

All of his money is gone
(find the money for your rent, find the money for your rent)

She got out first .... away from me

. . .

What's the difference between you and me
You got no mercy
You got no sympathy
Your soul is cracked and mine is free
Thats the difference between you and me

I wish that you would just open your mind
Even if it takes up all your precious time
Redirect, earn some respect,
Please open your mind

What's the difference between you and me
Your faults and your flaws
You fail to see
Escape your new find
Your conscience is lying
Thats the difference between you and me

I wish that you would just open your mind
Even if it takes up all your precious time
Redirect your self-respect to someone else but you
Please open your mind

(Long Solo)

What's the difference between you and me
You got no mercy
You got no sympathy
Your soul is cracked and mine is free
Thats the difference between you and me

I wish that you would just open your mind
Realise your soul is not that hard to find
Redirect your self-respect to someone else but you
Please open your mind
Please open your mind
Please open your mind

. . .

Well the clouds in the sky
And your winter clothes
Are sadly a condition of life
In this land, where the sun
Is as shy as long forgotten manners of old

I can't wait for a time
When the Summer sun is back up in the sky,
We can stay out at night
And forget about the failing light

I wanna walk in the park and smell the freshly cut grass
(Please keep off the grass)
As the summer breeze blows up your skirt, what more can I ask
(I can see your arse)

[Chorus]
At last I shed my winter clothes
At last I'm over the moon, I'm under the sun
(At last summer's begun, I'm over the moon, I'm under the sun)
At last I met a girl,
Her head full of curls and diamonds and pearls.
(Took to a girl)

While you work on your tan
Travelling from Thailand to Milan
We're in Morris the van, from Bridlington to Camber Sands

You go Pick Your Own Fruit and eat till you end up ill
(We've all had our fill)
We share a tinny or two on top of the hill
(Found my thrill at last)

[Chorus]
At last I shed my winter clothes
At last I'm over the moon, I'm under the sun
(At last summer's begun, I'm over the moon, I'm under the sun)
At last I met a girl,
Her head full of curls and diamonds and pearls.
(Took to a girl)

Well the sand in your shoes and your sunburnt toes
May trigger off the summertime blues
Don't be daft, shrug 'em off
'Cause we ain't got a moment to lose

We better hit the arcades
Spend an hour spending our loose change
Give the ghost train a ride
And kiss my future bride
(Not Frankenstein's)

We get a lift down the beach with the boys all crammed in the back
(Boys crammed in the back)
Barely enough room for the ball and a twenty-four pack
(What more could I ask)

[Chorus]
At last I shed my winter clothes
At last I'm over the moon, I'm under the sun
(At last summer's begun, I'm over the moon, I'm under the sun)
At last I met a girl (Took to a girl)
Her head full of curls and diamonds and pearls
Diamonds and pearls.
Diamonds and pearls.
Diamonds and pearls

. . .

I'm gonna pack up my troubles in my old kit-bag, I'm gonna run a mile from here
'Cos the ASBO generation make this a terror nation full of loathing and fear
All the bleary-eyed boys getting high on the low street
While the girls lift clothes down the high street and they say,
"Yeah I know, I know it's wrong but I can't be bothered to pay,
I got the money but I need it for my dealer today."
And her friends are all the same and they know it's not right
But they were promised more from this life

And they will steal and they will fight
Because there's nothing for the kids to do today
And they will haunt the streets at night
Because there's nothing for the kids to do today

Shaun has an ASBO, he's only fourteen, he's tired and he's bored with the local police
"They're pricks," he says, "I didn't get a second chance,
They didn't ask why I did it"
The pigs ...
The paedophiles playing his neck of the woods,
He's got no safety numbers, his ASBO won't allow him to be hanging around in gangs
What is he to do? He's been kicked out of school
What a way to fix a fool, we are failing our youth
Parents and governors can you handle the truth?

And they will steal and they will fight
Because there's nothing for the kids to do today
And they will haunt the streets at night
Because there's nothing for the kids to do today
There's nothing for the kids to do

Who's to blame? The mainstream media?
Our rulers and idols get greedier and seedier
They're an embarrassment, they should be shamed
For misguiding our youth, they're the ones to blame
They sit back and watch the evil grow from the youth club ruins where the kids used to go
Take parts of Salford in Manchester, dying on its feet
While the players at United get a hundred grand a week
The kids love them anyway, it don't make sense
When you have a go at me for the sake of fifty pence
Especially when some of you so called "poor kids" have got the money for a digital camcorder
And the time to film a girl whilst you spit-roast her
You hang about the park but you don't play football
You trouble me for money 'cos you've got to make a drug call (?)
You've got time, you've got money but you wrap it in a joint 'cos you don't see the point in using your time for making your dreams come true
You're all too busy trying to lose our respect for you
Why're you proud to be rude?
You're just trying to be cool in front of your mates
That's all that really matters when you're living in hate

And they will steal and they will fight
Because there's nothing for the kids to do today
And they will haunt the streets at night
Because there's nothing for the kids to do today

Why do you wanna grow up, why do you wanna grow so fast and throw your youth away?
Don't throw your youth away and don't let me hear you say
That there's nothing for the kids to do today
There's plenty for the kids to do today
There's so much for the kids to do

. . .

Look, here comes another man with another sorry story to tell
And you can bet he'll tell me all about the time he fell from Heaven to Hell
Well, I don't wanna listen but he tells me all the same
This altruistic culture ...
Leave me alone, you're not a dog, I'm not a bone
But you're gonna bury me with your total misery

And when I'm out on Saturday with Charlie and Bill
... if I will or I won't, if I do or I don't
Nothing is for definite and nothing is for sure
I am getting desperate as I am getting poor

Look, here comes another drunk with a face longer than bin Laden's
And he has drunk so much alochol he can no longer get a hard-on
Not that he'd ever get a chance to use it
Women are intelligent and he is stupid
Lost and lonely he will remain, no amount of alcohol will wash his misery away

And when I'm out on Saturday with Charlie and Bill
... if I will or I won't, if I do or I don't
Nothing is for definite and nothing is for sure
I am getting desperate as I am getting poor

All the fucked up fuck ups ******* me up
With their stories and their tears, and their cigarettes and beers
All the fucked up fuck ups ******* me up
I think they're killing me with their grim reality

Well, a thirty-three year-old grandma comes up to me and says,
"My family's gonna take over this council estate
If we keep on giving birth at this rate
I could've been a great-great-great-grandma by the age of seventy-five
And I will be clad in Burberry, I don't care if I'm dead or alive,
I don't care if I'm dead or alive."

All the fucked up fuck ups ******* me up
With their stories and their tears, and their cigarettes and beers
All the fucked up fuck ups ******* me up
I think they're killing me with their grim reality
All the fucked up fuck ups ******* me up
A lot is going wrong, you'd better sing along
All the fucked up fuck ups ******* me up
(You fucked up fuck ups!)
