Got a fire
Deep within me burning
I'd be a liar
If I didn't tell you so
And you're a live wire sparklin' around me
And I couldn't tire havin' you around
So, dance, dance, dance, makin' a connection
Fingertips, electricity flowin'
Rollin' hips movin' to me slowly
Lips touch lips, you can't dance alone
Look at me
I am your tomorrow
Can't you see
You know how I know
I got a place
In the morning we can borrow
And there ain't no haste
Follow where I go
Time, time, time, only a few hours
Such a crime, got no telephone, no
S'getting late, movin' on downtown
Wait, wait, wait, you can't dance alone
Energy, our exhilaration
Come with me, silent relaxation
Let it be, let yourself alone a while
What you need, sunrise and a smile
Merely chance, bringin' us together
Real romance, let's go be alone right now
Coincidence, I might be your lover
Dance, dance, dance, you can't dance alone.

Sometimes I consider my pace
I'm reminded of a train gathering speed for the climb to the pass;
In whose shadow it already lies
A small metal dragon approaching the ever present ascending rise
To the Seventh Mountain.
Reeling and snaking and leaping it seems
That it wants to come loose from it's path cast in iron;
But you can't slow down now
As the Earth has presented a new crest to reach
Without barely a rest from the last one.
Can you wonder what lies beyond?
Though you've been there before
And forget about the effort and the strain;
Always ascending, each yard as a mile
To the never ending pull of the steepening grade that's before you.
It's no matter. No distance. It's the ride.
A valley, a forest, a desert, a stream,
And an oversized bridge for the trickle beneath;
You remember the torrent it turned to last Spring,
From the snow melting fast,
And the river it became in the summer.
Perhaps it is ruin from a fire that has scorched it
So badly that nothing will grow without rain;
To wash away the blackened soil
Now useless until called upon again
In a future as distant and far away as the next range of mountains.
Then take it as far as you see and beyond
With eyes you don't use enough to gather up strength;
As Thoroughfare Gap
What awaits is whatever you see
When you get there of even before;
It's no matter. No distance. It's the ride.

To forget about lovin' you at all is
beyond me
I cannot understand yeah
Here without you is loneliness
I called out in desperation give me
back your hand
I can't believe I've heard you say forever
It may be my naïveté
But life is real and not a play
Together we will go on
And I have not the faintest glimmer
of the past
And tomorrow will come and go away
And my heart is broken but will last
My spirit cries out to you for space
It is good can you feel it
It is strong cannot defeat it
And I don't believe you've gone away
Don't believe I've heard you say forever
It may be my naïveté
But life is real and not a play
Together we will go on
And as my future grows darker every day
I can't help wonderin' how you feel
About how high a price we have to pay
Broken dreams, broken hearts that
will not heal
And I don't believe you've gone away
Don't believe I heard you say forever
It may be my naïveté
But life is real and not a play
Together we will go on

Down where the moss grow on the oak tree
There's a bayou woman she waits for me
She treats me nice and she makes good gumbo
C'est ma femme out Je t'aime I love her so
C'est beaucoup yumbo
And she'll lead the way once you
know where you're goin'
She gotta soft sway, Does it without knowin'
She treats me nice and she makes good gumbo
C'est ma femme out Je t'aime I love her so
C'est beaucoup yumbo
And I don't mind telling you that
everything feels better
When I'm with my woman make me
strong and for sure more together
There's a yellow swamp steady as you're goin'
'Round that next bend the cypress never knowin'
Listen to the music of the river flowin'
Like the deep Mississippi current she always knowin'
She treats me nice and she makes good gumbo
C'est ma femme out Je t'aime I love her so
C'est beaucoup yumbo

I was lost in a voyage at sea
I was waiting for you and me
To remember just how it was
So that we can sing together
When will you realize
I got one of your stronger
And I know we can work it
I know we can work it work it out
together
But look hiding behind the walls
Closing doorways to the hall
Nothing ventured nothing gained
What's your game
Just take a look at that blackened tree
It is not for the cause of me
But a stranger was passed there long
And he stepped right in-between us
Picture of empty places
Eyes of reflecting faces
Now your fast emptiness
Now you can see what the fear does
You go hiding behind walls
We can tear away the wall
Change the shutters from the hall
Never voices as that are called
Then you're singing that is all
And the reason for the game
Becomes clearly quite a statement
That's what you get for playing your game

I've got to run to keep from hiding
And I'm bound to keep on riding;
And I've got one more silver dollar
But I'm not gonna let 'em catch me, no.
Not gonna let 'em catch the midnight rider.
I don't own the clothes I'm wearing
And the road goes on forever
And I've got one more silver dollar
But I'm not gonna let 'em catch me, no
Not gonna let 'em catch the midnight rider.
I've gone by the point of caring.
Some old bed I'll soon be sharing
And I've got one more silver dollar
But I'm not gonna let 'em catch me, no.
Not gonna let 'em catch the midnight rider.
No, I'm not gonna let 'em catch me, no.
Not gonna let 'em catch the midnight rider;
No, I'm not gonna let 'em catch me no.
No, I'm not gonna let 'em catch the midnight rider.

Woman woman
Can I tell you about my girl
She's lost and gone away
Don't know where she's goin'
Wish she'd come home to stay.
Woman woman woman woman
Ese mujer me ha mentido
Como mujer eres niña
vive en un mundo sin paredes
Inocentemiento no lo crees querida
And when you think of me
Try to remember
All of the good times
And love that was tender

Feel such misery and I don't know why
Feel so bad I'm surprised I'm not
condemned to die
I never thought that heartbreak
could bring such pain.
Guess that's what it's like when you
see different things
And I'm a-lowdown
Get me out of this place
And I'm lowdown
Like a hole in space
And I'm lowdown
Spirit movin' at a dreadful pace
Slowly dyin' I can see it in my face
Sadness and anger all that keeps me goin'
Tired of nothin' but my outsides showin'
And I'm lowdown
Dying embers of a fire
Sputtering tears of a lost desire
Hangin' on to hope that just might be
But I feel like I'm hangin' from a dyin' tree
And I'm lowdown
And I'm lowdown lowdown
Get me out of this place
And I'm lowdown lowdown
Like a hole in space
And I'm lowdown and I'm lowdown

I'm gonna tell you how it's gonna be
Come home and bring your love to me
My love for you has got to be real
All of these years and how I feel
I've been lovin' you night and day
My love is real not fade away
Can't you see that there's a good reason
For bein' together just to be pleasin'
Stompin', shoutin' and carryin' on
Just you and me baby we could have more fun
All we need is a sunny day
Love a love not fade away
Love a love not fade away
My love is real not fade away
Love a love not fade away
My love is real not fade away
Nobody else could be your man
I'm still walkin so I know I can
My love is bigger than a cadillac
Tried to chauffeur but you drove me back
Got to be with you when night turns to day
My love is real not fade away
My love is real not fade away
My love is real not fade away
My love is real not fade away
(Love a love not fade away)

Can't get no booty can't get no booty
Can't get no booty can't get no booty
I can't see it anyway
Because I've always been such an easy prey
Can't get no booty can't get no booty
Try'n and try'n again
No matter how hard I shake my tailfeather
in your face
All I can think of it's such a disgrace
There's so much good man goin' to waste
Maybe it's because of the clothes I wear maybe it's the
Palmade on my hair
Can't get no booty can't get no booty
Is it the way I talk maybe it's the way I walk
Is it the way I think maybe it's just the way I speak
Can't get no booty can't get no booty
Can't get no booty can't get no booty
Having trouble seeing through your shades
What you been reading 'bout me in the trades?
Trying to make myself perfectly clear
It's not the inches, it's the engineer
And when I'm running my strongest way
What is the feeling that you can't fake
Maybe it's the tattoo on my face
maybe it's that I just know my place
Can't get no booty can't get no booty
Can't get no booty can't get no booty
