All the people wanna try you girl,
And I hope you tell them where to go,
Cus I've got so much here to offer girl,
Oh I love you more than you can know

Some people wanna speed it up,
Infact I want to slow it down.
I wanna get myself dressed up yeah,
And take you out on the town

I'll be a model pupil tonight, babe.
I wanna get ten out of ten.
I'll be a model pupil tonight, babe.
I wanna get ten out of ten.

Everybody's got opinions girl,
There own versions of a good idea.
But the best one I can think of now,
Is to make sure that I keep you near.

And I know that I've got to keep it up,
Cus I can see you're feeling down
And I wanna get myself dressed up yeah,
And take you out on the town

I'll be a model pupil tonight, babe.
I wanna get ten out of ten.
I'll be a model pupil tonight, babe.
I wanna get ten out of ten.

And get an A in the taxi,
A In the restaurant.
Get ten out of ten.
Get an A in the kitchen
And an A in the bedroom
I get ten out of ten

You make it out of nothing,
And turn it into something,
And give it to you all for free
I'll be a model pupil tonight, babe.
I wanna get ten out of ten.

Sunday morning go the hazy, hazy jeans
i turn to you and inhale where you lay.
took a wonder through the garden,
to awake the long long day
and then roll of a while on violet flower bed.

oh, you kiss my lips again and again and again
and then again and then we watched the sun coming up easy
while the rain came tumbling down
and it watched our bodies so cleanly
we could see them rise up off of the cold cold ground.

its a shame the way its seems to go
cause now my best friend, my partner in crime
im afraid it looks like we're
gonna have to go our separate ways.
you see the thing is i love you, i love you
but you see i resent you all the time.
all my other friends their just saying
your slowing me down.

oh i should have known
you'd turn to me and say
before you throw too much of me away.
don't you remember seeing the sun coming up easy
while the rain came tumbling down.
and it washed out bodies so cleanly
seen them rise up off of the cold cold ground.

we seen the sun coming up easy
while the rain came tumbling down
and it washed our bodies so clean
we could feel them rise up off of the cold cold ground.

it was in love i was created
and in love is how i hope i die (repeated)

Sitting beside you in school,
While we'd paint I'd make you laugh.
Mine was never very good,
Yours looked exactly like the photograph.
Looks like I'm growing, I'm growing up beside you.

I don't always get the way you feel,
But now I've learned to live with that.
It's like I'm a part of something real.
I was hittin' the bottle, now I've broken the seal.
Looks like I'm growing, I'm growing up beside you

And the sun sets the scene,
While the rain misses me.
And all the time I'll be growing, growing up beside you.

Oh, The sun sets the scene,
While the rain misses me.
And all the time I'll be growing, growing up beside you.

I was perched outside in the pouring rain
Trying to make myself a sail
Then I'll float to you my darlin'
With the evening on my tail
Although not the most honest means of travel
It gets me there nonetheless
I'm a heartless man at worst, babe
And a helpless one at best

Darling I'll bathe your skin
I'll even wash your clothes
Just give me some candy
Before I go

Oh, darling I'll kiss your eyes
And lay you down on your rug
Just give me some candy
After my heart

and iґm often fals explaining
But to her it plays out all the same
and although iґm left defeated
It getґs held against my name
i know you got plenty to offer baby
But I guess I've taken quite enough
well iґm some stain there on your bedsheet
You're my diamond in the rough

Darling I'll bathe your skin
I'll even wash your clothes
Just give me some candy
before i go

Oh, darling I'll kiss your eyes
And lay you down on your rug
Just give me some candy
After my heart

I know that thereґre writtings on the wall

But Darling I'll bathe your skin
I'll even wash your clothes
Just give me some candy
After my heart

Oh, and I'll be there waiting for you
Oh, I'll be there waiting for you
I'll be there waiting for you
Oh, I'll be there waiting for you
Oh, I'll be there waiting for you
Oh, then I'll be there waiting for you
I'll be there waiting for you
Oh, then I'll be there waiting on you
I'll be there waiting for you
I'll be there waiting for you

Was it love or recognition that has
healed this man's condition
I'm hoping and I'm wishing that
this bird won't fly away
We can see life hand in hand,
the green, the blue, the rough, the sand
And in our time and in our land
we'll savor everyday

And oh, how our glory may fade,
at least we've learned
some things along the way

You took me from my bubble
knowing my defense was weak
And you sat there and you listened
any time I chose to speak
you gathered from my pleas to
you that I am but a clown
And I fear only a hero can defeat
these demons now

And oh, how our glory may fade,
at least we've learned some
tricks of trade

And as time shall inevitably move on,
oh well, at least we'll have four strong
legs to stand on
To keep us alive...

1, 2, 3, 4
I got a sheet for my bed,
and a pillow for my head
i got a pencil full of lead,
and some water for my throat
I've got buttons for my coat; and sails on my boat
So much more than I needed before
I got money in the meter and a two bar heater
Now it's getting hotter;
oh it's oly getting sweeter
I got legs on my chairs and a head full of hear
Pot and a pan
and some shoes on my feet;
I got a shelf full of books and most of my teeth
A few pairs of socks and a door with a lock
I got food in my belly and a license for my telly
And nothing's going to bring me down
I got a nice guitar and tyres on my car
I got most of the means; and scripts for the scenes
I'm out and about, so I'm in with a shout
I got a fair bit of chat but better than that
Food in my belly and a license for my telly
and nothing's going to bring me down
Nothing's going to bring me down

But best of all (best of all)
I've got my baby
She's mighty fine and says she's all mine
And nothing's going to bring me down
Best of all
I've got my baby
She's mighty fine and says she's all mine
And nothing's going to bring me down
Not today,,, no, no

Darlin'
my frustration
it gets me, it gets me where it hurts me most.
like five rapid to the gut its not so easy to see.
and I've been gone far, far to long
to expect you not to change even a little bit
and i guess i hope im still the kind of guy
your needin for your fool.

cuz life's a bowl here on the road and these four wheels
oh but something about the whole thing
it doesnt feel real

work my days for you
cuz i love you girl, i don't want you
i need you
and i cant see no other way

darlin'
i work my days for you
cuz i love you girl, i don't want you
i need you
and i can't see no other way

ohhhhh this separation
it really gets you thinkin
and all those used up those days
well they've worn enough in the wind
and i, i wonder if your half as innocent as you surely
or if you thank him for his time and just never call again

oh oh
and after all the lights and shows and long hope lanes
it'd be you and me again
but until then

i work my days for you
cuz i love you girl, i don't want you
i need you
i cant see no other way

oh darlin'
i work my days for you
cuz i love you girl, i don't want you
i need you
and i can't see no other way

oohh live
im home
so love me
and im home babe
oh so touch me

yeah
im home
so kiss me, like you do
kiss me babe
babyy
but ill do it for you

ohh babe, yeaahhh babyyy
i want you babe
im, im home babe
so take me in your arms
oh babe, baby
love me like you do
oh kiss me like you do
and baby you bet I'll do it for you
ohh nooo
hold me like you do

My hopes are high but my eyes can't
believe what they see,
Give me something to believe,
gime me something to believe,
I got lucky in life and had plenty to eat and
I saw this world as one big pool of opportunity
But there's too much mind corruption,
too littleremedy (or that's how it seems to me)
Yeah we need a moral education to
set the young minds free...

So let us change what we can and
accept what we can't
Impart some of the wisdom
from that tried and tested man
There'no harm in being wrong you know no,
in fact to me, it's common ground - yeah
so take that feather from you cap sir,
and pass that feather around...

My hopes are high but my eyes can't
believe what they see,
Give me something to believe in,
gime me something to believe,
My hopes are high but my eyes can't
believe what they see
My hopes are high
Give me something,
give me something to believe

Sweet little Rosie, my softest machine,
Bounces with me on my big trampoline.
Childish and silly we're part of a team,
me and my Rose on my big trampoline.

I was a shadow,
I'd smoke and I'd sleep.
'till you came and I opened like a flower to the heat.
And now Rosie she tells me of things that she's seen,
With flowers in her hair on my big trampoline.

If you love the life you live
then you'll get a lot more done
Be more inclined to take the reins
than turn away and run
it's very rare it seems to get a lifetime guarantee,
so I suppose self satisfaction be the key
My father is a wealthy, self made man
but his wealth does not consist of riches or acres of land
Instead he has a family who are
his biggest fans
That's something that I one day hope to have
So I'll cherish the simple things
the easy took for granted things
Like going round my Mum's house for my tea
And argue with my sister,
only God knows how I missed her
It's the simple things that mean the most to me

Argh, he gets up each day at five
Starts the car and makes the drive
shutters up, starts the fryers
Serves out food to all the buyers in the town
As they stand there in the same old line
Get there every day at the same old time
no, you never hear him grumble and groan
Cause they're the people in the line that he built it on
and like me he cherished the simple things
the easy took for granted things
Like going round his Mum's house for my tea
And argue with his sister,
only God knows how he missed her
It's the simple things tha mean the most to... him

. . .

Oh worries are about
And heavy on his gut
He feels he's being punished
For the bad things he has done

Help him Jesus, help him
Send him down a sign
'cos he feel's he is getting old before his time

And he is sitting at the table
The table he has set
He is begging for the courage to redeem some self respect

Help him Jesus, help him
Walk along the line
'cos he feel's he is getting old before his time

He says it takes a worried man
To sing a worried song
It takes a worried man
To sing a worried song
It takes a worried man
To sing a worried song
He is worried now
But he won't be worried long

He broke her heart on a warm and sunny day
Oh he broke her heart on a warm and sunny day
When she heard what he had to say
All that sun soon went away
He broke her heart on a cold and windy day

He says it takes a worried man
To sing a worried song
It takes a worried man
To sing a worried song
It takes a worried man
To sing a worried song
He is worried now
But he won't be worried long

And so he moves towards his sweet redeeming light
Shadows cast but none obscure his sight
And they wonder where he is going
While he is knelt before her throat
Refusing to go down without a fight

He says it takes a worried man
To sing a worried song
It takes a worried man
To sing a worried song
It takes a worried man
To sing a worried song
He is worried now
But he won't be worried long

. . .

Keep rolling
Rolling
Steady from the bay
And I'll be bad to see you girl
Should you return someday

Keep rolling
Rolling
Steady from the bay
And I'll be back to see you girl
Should you return someday

. . .
