If we could leave this big old city
and head back for the cabin we loved back deep in the woods
Whoa baby we would
If we could jump in some big old jet plane & head for the islands
where the weather is always good
Oh don't you know we would
Well we can't do this & we can't do that
But baby we can stay right where we're at
Take a little trip, take a little trip
Take a little trip up to heaven tonight
Take a little time leave it all behind
Take a little trip up to heaven tonight
We could go downtown to a nightclub
and dance to the rythm of the music on that old hardwood
Whoa baby we could
We could call up Rita & Bobby
And see what they're doing tonight & maybe play some rook
Yeah baby we could
Yeah now we can do this or we can do that
Or baby we can stay right where we're at
Take a little trip, take a little trip
Take a little trip up to heaven tonight
Take a little time leave it all behind
Take a little trip you and me out of sight
Pull down the shades turn out the lights
Take a little trip up to heaven tonight
Take a little trip, take a little trip
Take a little trip up to heaven tonight
Take a little trip me and you out of sight
Pull down the shades turn out the lights
Take a little trip up to heaven tonight

Hey baby won't you take my hand
And make me a happy man
I ain't rich but I found my fortune in you
Two jobs on the nighttime shift
I'm still left with an empty fist
But my heart is full and my love is true
We can still get married in the style of our friends and family
Gather all of them to celebrate while we slip out quietly
And have a hometown honeymoon
Wildflowers and love is in bloom
We'll have a hometown honeymoon just me and you
Hometown honeymoon
Get out of church and up to your room
We'll have a hoe-down afternoon
Dancing to the rhythm of love
We can sing and laugh out loud
Lifestyles of the poor but proud
Cuddle up on the porch and enjoy the view
We can't afford Niagara Falls
But there's a fountain by the old town hall
We'll make a wish by the light of a lover's moon
I'll get my Grandma's wedding ring and my brother's Chevrolet
We can stay at your mama's house; we don't have to go away
To have a hometown honeymoon
Wildflowers and love is in bloom
We'll have a hometown honeymoon
Dancing to the rhythm of love
Your daddy's prize possession
I'll make a good impression
I'm gonna get his blessing that's all we need
Hometown honeymoon
Wildflowers and love is in bloom
We'll have a hometown honeymoon just me and you
Hometown honeymoon
Get out of church and up to your room
We'll have a hoe-down afternoon
Dancing to the rhythm of love
Hometown honeymoon
Hometown honeymoon

(Gary Baker/Frank J. Myers)
Once upon a lifetime
I looked in someone's eyes
And felt the fire burning in my heart
For the very first time
She was scared and young
And had never tasted love
So I took her by the hand
And a boy became a man
Once upon a lifetime
And once upon a lifetime
You hold the queen of hearts
But if you gamble on a diamond
When the dealing starts
You stand to lose it all
As the cards begins to fall
An the lesson learned is hard
You're only dealt the queen of hearts
Once upon a lifetime
So if your taking chances know the chance you take
A broken hearts a high price to pay
Foolish ways will make fools of the wise
And the best thing seldom come along twice
Once upon a lifetime
You know that you've been blessed
When you hold your first born
Tenderly against your chest
The innocent you see
The value of a family
And you feel a special bond
That only comes a long
Once upon a lifetime
So if you taking chances know the chance you take
A broken heart a high price to pay
Foolish ways will make fool's of the wise
And the best things seldom come along twice
And people only find
A love like yours and mine
Once upon a lifetime

Well i was raised out in the country,
Just outside a real small town,
And just like any other young boy,
All my life i dreamed of getting out.
I've been down,
to the city,
it's a real nice place to see,
well i got to much rebel in me,
i gotta be somewhere where i can breathe.
You can take me out of the country,
Miles from where i wanna be,
you can take me out of the country,
but you can't take the country outta me.
Hurry home,
to my woman,
big blue eyes and long blonde hair,
and we'll make love way until morning,
and tell the world i don't care.
You can take me out of the country,
Miles from where i wanna be,
you can take me out of the country,
but you can't take the country outta me.
Take me out of the country,
miles from where i wanna be
You can take me out of the country,
Miles from where i wanna be,
you can take me out of the country,
but you can't take the country outta me.
you can take me out of the country,
but you can't take the country outta me.

I'm in a hurry to get things done
Oh I rush and rush until life's no fun
All I really gotta do is live and die
But I'm in a hurry and don't know why
Don't know why I have to drive so fast
My car has nothing to prove
It's not new
But it'll do zero to sixty in five point two
I'm in a hurry to get things done
Oh I rush and rush until life's no fun
All I really gotta do is live and die
But I'm in a hurry and don't know why
Can't be late, I leave in plenty of time
Shakin' hands with the clock
I can't stop
I'm on a roll and I'm ready to rock
I'm in a hurry to get things done
Oh I rush and rush until life's no fun
All I really gotta do is live and die
But I'm in a hurry and don't know why
Oh, I hear a voice
That says I'm running behind
Better pick up my pace
It's a race and there ain't no room for someone in second place
I'm in a hurry to get things done
Oh I rush and rush until life's no fun
All I really gotta do is live and die
But I'm in a hurry and don't know why

Before he ever made the headlines
Or won the Winston cup
He survived his share of crashes
But he never did give up
The tracks in Carolina
Where all the Petty's ran
What kept the motor's running
Way back then, were you the fans
He won seven at Daytona
It was STP and forty-three
King Richard is a legend
And he's a hero to me
When he wins he waves his hand
To the folks up in the stand
He is dedicated
To all the Nascar fans
Well, I wish this year could last forever
But the race must go on
He'll hang up his helmet
But he never will be gone
I know he'll drive forever
In the heart of every fan
And he will be remembered
As the best that's ever been...

Woke up this morning, not feeling too well
The man in my mirror looking mighty pale
On this old CB calling for emergency
But all of a sudden, it's dawning on me
I don't need no doctor
To tell me what's wrong
I've known my problem
I've been gone too long, way too long
Homesick fever running through my vein
Lonely feeling, love hungry pain
You can say your daddy coming down with the blues
Got this homesick fever mama, missing you
That old evening sun, it's going down on my right
Baby, I'm southbound coming home tonight
I'm in the mountain, mama, headed up the hill
The closer I get to you the better I feel
That's just one gift, mama
She don't get my mind
One once of your love honey
And I'll be feeling fine, so fine
Homesick fever running through my vein
Lonely feeling, love hungry pain
You can say your daddy coming down with the blues
Got this homesick fever mama, missing you
Homesick fever, lonely feelin'
Yes, you can say your daddy coming down with the blues
Homesick fever mama, missing you

They married back in '32
They were young and love was new
And every day the feeling grew
Between the two of them
When work grew scarce and times got bad
The hope would chase away the sad
And hope was sometimes all they had
Between the two of them
The 40's came and the 50's went
And the mortgage replaced the rent
They made the most of each day spent
Between the two of them
Their children all turned out just fine
So he retired in '69
And left with oh so little time
Between the two of them
Today I brave the graveyard rain
And placed a rose between their names
Now that's the most that ever came
Between the two of them
And though I miss them oh so much
His crooked smile her gentle touch
And the pleasure of just growing up
Between the two of them
. . .

American pride something you feel inside
Something you can't describe American pride
Dad said, "Son I'm proud you won
But the game is more than any toy"
Mama said, "Now Son say sir and say ma'am
And be proud you're southern born"
You play when you're hurt and you work when you're tired
'Cause that was Grandpa's way
And the biscuits are better at Granny's house
And the gravy taste great all day
American pride yes it is something you feel inside
Soemthing you can't describe, something you cannot hide
American pride something you feel inside
Traditions run deep and wide with American pride
When a baby is born we all celebrate
With tears of joy in family eyes
'Cause we all know the baby will grow up with American pride
Yeah we work and we play and we have our own ways
And we don't all look alike
But if the cause is right we stand up and fight
To protect our American pride
Sing it, sing it, sing it
American pride yes it is something you feel inside
It's something you can't describe, it's something you can't hide
American pride something you feel inside
Traditions run deep and wide with American pride
With American pride, it's American pride

There were times I stood my ground
When I knew you were right
Turned around and walked away
When I should've held you tight
But you never closed the door
You just turned out the light
Gave me time to think it over
A chance to make it right
Sometimes out of touch
But never out of love
Sometimes giving in
But never giving up
We've been worlds apart
Yet always close enough
Yeah we've been out of touch
But never out of love
No matter how we try
There still may come a time
When our minds are far apart
But I know you and me
Will always find a way
To be together in our hearts
Sometimes out of touch
But never out of love
Sometimes giving in
Oh but never giving up
We've been worlds apart
Yet always close enough
Yeah we've been out of touch
But never out of love
Yeah we've been out of touch
But never out of love

There's a teardrop falling slowly from my eyes tonight
As I think of your two arms that used to hold me so very tight
But you're gone now and girl I'm alone and blue
With just these pictures and memories of you
Pictures and memories of a love warm and true
Pictures of love we shared and the memories of you
But your pictures can't heal my chest of this hurt deep inside
Pictures and memories I feel like crying tonight
I may be crazy but you know sometimes I can almost feel your touch
Those who say I should be over you well I guess they just never loved as much
I'd put your pictures where I couldn't see them but I'd still see them in my mind
Just like your memories, they're right here with me all the time
Pictures and memories of a love warm and true
Pictures of love we shared and the memories of you
But your pictures can't heal my chest of this hurt deep inside
Pictures and memories I feel like crying tonight
Pictures and memories I feel like dying tonight
