Former Busted Members Play Jury 'Their Songs' In Court

4 марта 2008 года
Former Busted Members Play Jury 'Their Songs' In CourtTwo original members of the boy band Busted have played acoustic versions of the band’s songs which they claim to have written to a jury.

Ki McPhail and Owen Doyle claim that they are owed royalties from a number of the group’s biggest hits, including, ‘What I Go To School For’ and ‘Year 3000’.

In court yesterday (March 3rd), McPhail used an acoustic guitar to demonstrate the song writing process to the jury.

He played songs by Busted and then compared the arrangements to hits by the Spice Girls and Wheatus.

McPhail and Doyle were in a previous band called Termites with Busted members James Bourne and Matt Willis.

The group changed their name to Busted after they were signed to Universal Records in March 2001.

However, McPhail and Doyle were replaced later that year by Busted’s eventual frontman Charlie Simpson.

Both men say that they were put “under pressure” to release their claim to the songs that they had written.

The £10 million lawsuit is expected to last 15 days, reports the BBC.
