Peggy Sue
"Escargot"
The fragile things surround my feet
The night was dark
So I couldn't see anything
My breath was short
Like my will was weak
So I stand still and I don't speak
Because just one step
One small step
And there will be nothing left
And the rain it came
And the wind it blew
And those tiny little things
They had nowhere else to go
So they lined up along the street
In all the places that I kept putting my feet
And now just one move
One false move
And there will be nothing left to lose
'Cause the crack of the shell
Makes my little toenails curl
Makes my skin crawl
Makes my blood boil
Makes me skin crawl
Makes my blood boil
Makes my skin crawl
Makes my blood boil
Makes my skin crawl
Makes my blood boil
Makes my skin crawl
Makes my blood boil
Makes my skin crawl
Makes my blood boil
So I made it dark
So I couldn't find the words
I had written in between the lines
And we went some place real loud
So I couldn't hear the words
I'd planned to come out of my mouth
Morning came
And the sun it rose
And the feeling started to come back into my toes
So I slowly stood and began to breathe
All those fragile friends of mine
They were nowhere to be seen
